Supplementation for Weight Loss

Hey, guys. Dr. Axe, here. Welcome to our supplementation session here for our 30-day weight loss program. If you want to lose weight fast, burn fat fast, and look and feel your absolute best, supplements can support you along with diet and exercise, and meeting your weight loss goals. I want to talk about my top supplements that may help support your body in reaching a healthy weight. The first one would be a green superfood powder. Greens are full of nutrients, and specific foods like chlorella, spirulina, and wheat grass. 


They also may contain adaptogen herbs and compounds that can support fat burning, and so finding a good quality or taking a good quality green superfood powder can help support you reaching your ideal weight. Some of my favorite herbs found in a green superfood powder are herbs like rhodiola rosea. Rhodiola has been shown time and time again to support your body in burning fat for energy. Also the herb ashwagandha, which has been shown to support your body and your thyroid. Then also holy basil, which has been shown to naturally support hormones, both in men and women. Taking some of these adaptogen herbs can help your body, support your body in its metabolism and reaching your ideal weight. The next supplement you want to consider if you are trying to lose weight fast is taking a good quality protein supplement. 


Protein powder - specifically, a grass-fed whey protein - can help support your body's metabolism. Really, in terms of a nutrition program, if you want to burn fat, most of the time you have to get rid of all those extra carbs, and you have to get more protein, fiber, and healthy fat in your diet. Getting a good quality protein supplement can really help your body, and it helps support a healthy metabolism. One of my favorite strategies is doing a superfood smoothie in the morning with a scoop of protein powder, and also doing that superfood smoothie right when you're done working out can absolutely support your body in maintaining and reaching an ideal weight. Last, but not least, if you're trying to burn fat, taking probiotics. 

I know that surprises some people, but new research is now showing that the health of your gut can support the health of your body, and even your metabolism. In fact, when you take certain probiotics, your gut starts to produce fatty acids like albuterate, and also increases the B vitamins in your body like vitamin B12, which in turn supports a healthy metabolism. Probiotics: Another surprising, but essential, nutrient that can support your body and your overall metabolism.
