first fods practice

At 6 o'clock, the first 'fods ringing' was at The Old Post Office once again. This was followed by dinner at a nearby restaurant before the yarfods had their first taste of Washington's gay scene.

Saturday 27 May
Frederick, 8 bells, 9-2-18

Saturday was a beautiful hot day and the fods departed for Frederick, Maryland. Throughout the entire tour they were made to feel incredibly welcome by the locals but this was particularly true at Frederick where cakes, homemade biscuits and cold drinks provided the perfect break from ringing.

Reading a book at Frederick, Paul Williams discovered that he is "a ringer of exceptional skill and ability".

Frederick is a pretty little town however, at lunch, the visiting fods almost dropped their fanny packs when they discovered "Take Away Growler" on the menu! Thankfully, Frederick also has an "English" shop where you can buy Marmite and Cadbury's chocolate.
